This Father’s Day, my wife and I found ourselves celebrating at our local gem, Coronado Vineyards in Willcox, Arizona. The vineyard, renowned for its fine wines, offered us a mouth-watering gastronomic adventure I’m excited to share with you.
Upon arriving, we were greeted with a spectacular view of the vineyards basking in the Arizona sun. This day was destined to be special, and Coronado Vineyards did not disappoint.
We decided to try their Father’s Day special: an assortment of three gourmet hot dogs that would make any foodie’s heart sing. The first was a Sonoran style hot dog, a delightful burst of traditional flavors. Next came the Hawaiian dog – a surprising combination that I fell in love with. The sweetness of the pineapple paired with the savory dog was a match made in heaven. Lastly, we tried the Beer Cheese Pretzel Dog, which boasted a robust flavor profile that was both hearty and satisfying. My only regret is that the Hawaiian dog was a weekend-only special. I made a plea to the manager to consider keeping it on the menu. Here’s hoping!
Our culinary expedition did not end there. We decided to dive into a wine tasting session. We opted for the sweet and semi-sweet selections, immersing ourselves in the diverse flavors each bottle offered. After much deliberation, we found ourselves drawn towards a particular red wine – a symphony of taste that captivated our palate like no other.
As the day neared its end, we took a stroll through the vineyards, a perfect end to a perfect day. The rows of vines stretching towards the horizon, the sun dipping behind the mountains, and the memory of delicious food and wine, all painted a picture I knew would stay with me.
Coronado Vineyards served us more than just a meal; it gave us an unforgettable Father’s Day celebration. If you find yourself in or around Willcox, I highly recommend a visit.
