I often get asked, “What gear are you using?”
Whether it’s the shoes that save my back during a long shift at the hospital, or the tech I use to run my web development projects and trading from the break room, I believe in buying quality tools that last.
Here is the current loadout for PinoyMT.
1. The Lab “Daily Driver” (Footwear)
The hospital floor is unforgiving. If you are on your feet for 12 hours, you can’t compromise here. I’ve tried them all, but I keep coming back to brands that prioritize maximum cushion.
Currently, I rely on New Balance Fresh Foam (or similar high-cushion runners). They provide the stability I need when I’m running samples and the cushion to keep my energy up until clock-out. If you are still wearing stiff leather clogs, do your back a favor and upgrade. [Link: Check Price on Amazon]
2. The Android Powerhouse: Samsung S24 Ultra
I skipped the iPhone and went full Android. As a developer and entrepreneur, I need a device that acts like a pocket computer, not just a phone.
The Samsung S24 Ultra is my main driver. The S-Pen is indispensable for sketching ideas for my “Soft Struggles” designs or taking quick notes in the lab. The camera is also my backup for vlogging when I don’t have my main rig with me. [Link: Shop Samsung S24 Ultra]
3. The Digital Notebook: Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE
This is the newest addition to my kit (I picked up the Blue model). The Galaxy Tab S10 FE is the perfect middle ground—it’s affordable, water-resistant (great for peace of mind in the breakroom), and comes with the S-Pen included.
- How I use it: It replaces my laptop for 90% of tasks. I use it to review charts, manage my “Unit 01” photo bookings, and watch content during downtime. Since I use an S24 Ultra, the ecosystem integration is seamless. [Link: Shop Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE]
4. The Creator Rig: Sony Alpha 6700
I’ve mentioned this before, but it deserves a spot on the list. This is the camera behind the PinoyMT YouTube channel. It’s compact, powerful, and handles low light incredibly well. If you want to start documenting your travels, this is the one to get. [Link: Check Price on Amazon]
